Perfect Napa Valley Getaway

Look like an Influencer with these picturesque spots!

The perfect romantic getaway, girls weekend, or relaxation spot! California’s Napa Valley has so much to offer and for surprisingly affordable prices. It is the wine lovers dream destination with over 500 wineries in the region. There are beautiful sites everywhere you turn and sure to be a memorable experience.

As always, my objective for planning travel is price and value. For cheapest rates on hotels and flights, you need to travel in low season. This is going to be in the Fall and early Spring. Summer is a VERY popular time in Napa and not to mention HOT. I planned this itinerary for early March since the weather is typically in the low 60s and the rain has mostly passed. Things are beginning to bloom during this time which provides some really great photo opportunities in the bright yellow fields of the vineyards.

Each trip is unique and prices can vary depending on accommodations, flights and activities. in total you can expect to spend about $880 per person for a similar itinerary to the one listed below. This includes flight, 4-nights of accommodations, all taxes and fees.

Here is my suggested itinerary for visiting Napa Valley and San Francisco

5 Days/ 4 Nights

Day 1: Arrive in San Francisco

🏠 Stanford Court near Union Square $200/night

Explore San Francisco throughout the day on bus tour or with a guide. View U.S. News top tours HERE.

Day 2: San Francisco/ Napa

🏠 Candlelight Inn $200/night

🚗 Take the ferry from San Fran's Pier 41 to Vallejo. It is about an hour ride and costs $15. Once in Vallejo, grab a taxi or ride share for a 20 minute ride to the town of Napa. This will run about $30.

Drop your bags at the hotel and explore the town of Napa. Some suggestions for sightseeing and seeing the town are HERE, HERE, and HERE.

Day 3: Napa Wine Train

🏠 Candlelight Inn $200/night

🚗 Napa Valley Wine Train

While it may be considered a "tourist attraction" the experience of the wine train is worth it. They have several packages ranging from a few hours to a full day. The full day packages typically include a train tour of the region, a 4-course meal, welcome beverages and wine pairings, and 1-hour tours at 3 different vineyards/wineries. HERE is the official site to learn more.

Day 4: Northern Region

🏠 Candlelight Inn $200/night

See more sights in the Northern towns of Calistoga, St. Helena, and Yountville. You can take shuttles to each of these cities for super cheap or even FREE! You can also view the sites on biking tours, private car or via the Vine. This is the Valley's public transit system. It's only about $1.60 per ride!

Day 5: Napa/San Francisco

🚗 The easiest way to return to the airport is by taxi or private car. It might be a little pricey, but it will save you about 2 hours of travel versus public transit.
